Heat oil in a pan, and brown your roast on all sides before transferring to the slow cooker.
Add 1 cup of Western Family Beef Broth to the pan to loosen the browned pieces stuck on the pan, and pour over the roast.
Sprinkle with salt, Western Family Garlic Powder & Western Family Onion Powder.
Pour into the slow cooker Western Family Soy Sauce and Western Family Worcestershire Sauce.
Top with the sliced apples.
Cover, and cook on low for 5-6 hours.
Remove roast from the slow cooker and discard the apple slices. Let it rest for 15 minutes.
To make the gravy, pour the juices from the slow cooker into a saucepan and simmer until it reduces to approximately 2 cups of liquid.
Combine Western Family Corn Starch and water until smooth in a small bowl, then stir it into your beef broth.
Bring to a boil, continue cooking for 2 minutes until thickened.
Slice roast, and serve with gravy.
